What are the best curse add-ons for World of Warcraft?

I recently gave in to peer pressure and started using ElvUI. It replaces your standard interface from Blizzard with a very sleek, minimalist UI. Many elements of the new UI have an option to only appear on mouseover. I prefer this for bars that have food, flasks, hearthstones, and other non-combat buttons I still like to have out for easy access. You can also keybind pretty extensively, so this helps with heads-up control.

While this isnt exactly what you were looking for in your question, it does provide a good base in which to install a few other addons, and it will incorporate them with a minimum of headaches. It used to take me a long time to set up each characters addons every time the game updated for an expansion, or when I had to reinstall the game or Windows. Much simpler now.

As to addons that will help focus you during questing, I suggest Carbonite. It has been recently updated for Warlords of Draenor, so it is once again a complete quest guide from 1-100. It groups quests in your log by location, so the nearest quest objectives are on top at all times. The map is very clear about where the objectives are, so you can accept a bunch of quests, open your map and make a route that will take you through the quest areas in an efficient manner. Complete the objectives in an area, and then ride along to the next area and do the same. I tend to do my questing in loops, that end up back at the quest givers. Im also an altoholic, so I often remember a few oddball quests that turn in at a different location than where I picked them up, and that helps me with planning my quest loops.

For stats comparisons, I have used Moncai Compare, which replaced the older Equip Compare addon. This puts more info in your tooltip while hovering over a potential upgrade, allowing you to compare and choose the best item. Ive also heard SimpleStats is very good.

For efficiently questing, and to remove distractions, I also suggest turning down the font size in your chat pane. If its less visible, youre less likely to unconsciously scan it and get sidetracked during focused activity like questing. Its still there, and you can check guild chat from time to time if desired, but its less intrusive.

For in-game strategies, I really only sparingly use the dungeon journal guides while in raids or dungeons. Typically, dungeons are very simple while leveling, and most people you group with are also familiar, so they go by in a flash. If youre doing dungeons in the new expansions, it is very helpful to look up guides on the internet before going into a dungeon, since they are far less forgiving. Other than that, please never waste your money buying any kind of leveling guide, and I say this to anyone out there. Using a questing approach that encompasses an area where quest objectives are located is the most efficient manner around, and many scam artists try to sell a generic guide that tells a person next to nothing for a chunk of money.

The first thing anyone should install is Deadly Boss Mods. This is especially crucial if you tend to mentally zone out, as it will give you audible warnings when things happen.

GTFO is another must-have for the easily distracted. It creates audible warnings when you are standing where you shouldnt be. It is equally useful for raiding, dungeons, bgs and questing when you want to avoid nasty mob attacks.

Id also second Danny LeDucs suggestion of ElvUI. It really covers a lot and is tremendously configurable.

As for the rest, its really personally preference and addons that might be applicable based on the role you are playing. Id suggest looking at the top 20 downloaded addons, and the top 20 for your class and giving them a try.

Sometimes youll find something that you never even knew you needed : )

Things that I personally would weep for if they went away:

HealBot (no, it doesnt heal for you, thats just silly. its just raid frames)

Altoholic147ViewsAmrit Chhetri, Warbringer TrichrAnswered150w agoIdeally you need a clean display that shows you what you need at the moment.

One of my very favorites for displaying my health energy etc is ICE Hud. Its clean and comes with many preset profiles. Plus you can choose how and when to display your vital statistics, by means of adding exceptions.

Bartender is another add on you require. And trust me, you need it if you are still clicking or shift+ arrowing to change your cast bar.

There are the two I can think of as essential. If u need anything more specific for a job, feel free to ask me up. \U0001f60a hope this helps.
